What is the Library?
The Library is jabarchives' dedicated space for written work — stories, novels, fiction, and any long-form text content. Authors publish work in chapters, which you read in a clean, distraction-free reader. It's completely separate from the art gallery: no images required, just writing.
Finding Stories
The Library homepage lists all published stories. Use the search bar to search by title, description, or tags. Filter by rating using the dropdown, and change the sort order (Newest, Most Popular, or Longest) using the sort selector. Click any story card to open its detail page and see the full chapter list.
Content Ratings
Authors rate their own stories. The ratings work as follows:
- General — suitable for all audiences; no explicit content
- Mature — moderate themes, suggestive content, mild violence
- Adult — explicit sexual content between adults
- Extreme — intense or dark themes, strong kink, graphic content
All ratings are publicly accessible — no login required to read any story.
Reading Experience
The reader toolbar at the top of each chapter gives you controls to adjust your experience: A− / A+ changes the font size, and the sun/moon toggle switches between dark and light mode. Both settings are remembered between visits. The ‹ › chevron buttons on either side of the chapter dropdown let you jump to the previous or next chapter instantly — or use the ← → keyboard arrow keys anywhere on the page.
Click the ⚙ settings icon to open the reading customization panel. Here you can choose your preferred font (system default, serif, or monospace), line height (tight, normal, or relaxed), and paragraph spacing (compact, normal, or wide). All three settings are saved in your browser and applied automatically on every chapter you read.
Your scroll position is saved automatically as you read — if you close a chapter mid-way and come back, the page returns to where you left off. Logged-in readers can also tap the bookmark icon in the toolbar to pin their exact position; a banner at the top of the page then lets you jump back to that spot or clear it any time.
If a chapter has a title image, it appears as a banner at the top. Scroll past it and it shrinks to a small floating thumbnail in the corner — you can drag it to any corner, resize it with the + / − buttons, or dismiss it with ×. Clicking the thumbnail scrolls you back to the top.
Reading Progress
If you're logged in, the Library automatically remembers which chapter you last read in each story. Story cards show a progress bar, and the story page highlights your last-read chapter so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
Bookmarks & Follows
Logged-in readers can bookmark any story using the bookmark icon on the story page — your bookmarks are listed under My Bookmarks for quick access. You can also follow a story to receive a notification whenever the author publishes a new chapter. All stories you follow are listed on the Subscriptions page in the Library nav bar, showing their current status and chapter count at a glance.
Kudos
Finished a text story and want the author to know? At the bottom of the last chapter, logged-in readers can leave Kudos — a one-click appreciation that doesn't require writing a comment. You can give kudos once per story; the total count is shown on the story card and the story page, and recent kudos-givers are listed by name at the end of the story. You can also remove your kudos at any time.
Reading History
The Library automatically tracks every story you open while logged in. Your History page (in the Library nav bar) lists your recently-read stories grouped by recency, with a Continue link that takes you straight to the last chapter you were on. You can clear your history at any time from that page.
Comments
Logged-in readers can leave comments in two places: on individual chapters (scroll to the bottom of any reading page) and on the story page itself (scroll below the chapter list). Both support replies and you can delete your own comments. All comments appear in the site moderator queue.
EPUB Download
Every story with published chapters has a EPUB download button on its story page. Click it to download the full story as a standard .epub file you can load on any e-reader, Kindle (via Send to Kindle), or reading app. PDF and Word-document chapters are noted as a placeholder; text chapters are fully included.
Reporting
If you find content that violates site guidelines, use the Report button on the story page to flag it for review by a moderator.
