Keep’n it simple

In today’s games of epic stories, hyper real environments and over the top gameplay, it’s nice to see something simple come a long.

Bit.Trip Beat (a Wii Ware title) is just that.  It’s a simple rhythm game done in a big pixel style that takes us back to the Atari days.  I see games like this as a reminder that what these are… what we’re playing is supposed to be games.  I feel that most titles released are more “interactive story experiences” rather then an actual “game” but that’s just me.  That’s not to say that I don’t like what is released now but I like my simple concepts too… and I think I like this.  I can’t help be feel interested in it.  Maybe I’ll pick it up on Monday.
