Braken

Ever play Ni no Kuni II: Revenant? If so then this character will be familiar to you. Her name is Braken and she’s a scientist in the game. I’ve not played the game, but I was happy to draw her for a Patreon supporter.

If you dig this, then you might be interested in supporting me at my Patreon where you can see my rough drawings, sketches and be involved in what drawings will come next. Thanks!

Not familiar with her, but she’s a cutie

When I first glanced at the title of this post, I read it as “Broken” and thought, “she’s gonna be, if that goes all the way it”.

Not sure about plate thigh-highs (might be a bit cold), but she is cute.

I think that’s a prosthesis. She’s all bad ass and has a robo leg.

Yeah, I think you’re right, and considered it myself (you did say she’s a scientist, after all). However, it kinda looks like an ‘anime’ style-choice.

I guess I’d prefer it to be a prosthetic, rather than a fashion. making use of technology to improve, or rectify, one’s self is great. However, I’m not really into the whole amputee fetish (please don’t think this means I find amputees repulsive–I just find the sadistic fetishizing of them problematic…).

Requester here. Bracken is a really neat character, and her prosthesis never comes off in game – in the flashback after she lost her leg, it’s framed so you only see her from the waist up.

She’s not being fetishized because she’s an amputee (at least, not here), she’s just a really sexy character that happens to have an artificial limb.

I’ll straight out apologize for my post. It wasn’t meant as a slight against this character, the portrayal of her in this piece, or you. In fact it was inappropriate of me to even raise the issue in the given context. Nothing about the piece indicates that she is being fetishized because of her condition, and she seems to be totally into whats happening. I have no excuse for mentioning my concerns and am sorry for doing so.

If it helps. She’s totally cute, and from your description seems to be a character that I can appreciate. I like characters that thrive in the face of adversity. Particularly those that overcome difficulty through ingenuity.

I hope that you’ll accept my apology.
