Camping
It’s that time of the year to take off to the wilderness and pitch a tent. Truthfully, I don’t care for camping, but I do it every year because my family loves it. This year I’m dog sitting while everyone goes to the beach ( I don’t like the beach ether) and catching up on some reading, playing a new game and drinking some Nazi pop/soda. Trivia time!! Why is Fanta a Nazi drink? I hope everyone’s having a swell time in civilization. ^_^

Made by Coca-Cola, Germany during WWII. Since they couldn’t get Coke syrup from the US, they came up with a fruit flavored pop called “Fanta”. Postwar, Coke got the brand name. (sips a glass of orange Fanta)

I’m with ya there Joe, camping is overrated. Though if campsites had wifi, I’d be more inclined to camp. lol
Also, I did not know that about Fanta. Not gonna stop me from drinking it, but interesting none the less. š

I knew that about Fanta. Hugo Boss made uniforms for the SS. Something they don’t like to talk about these days.

I did not know about Fanta, nor Hugo Boss. So thanks to both you and John for enlightening me. (Actually did a little reading into H.B. Not only did he make uniforms for the SS, but he was actually a member of the Nazi party…. Not sure that I can support a company that made its name on the suffering and death of millions.) I did, however, know that BMW (the ‘B’ does not stand for British, no matter how much people insist…) used to make engines for the Luftwaffe during WWII.
You don’t like the beach?! I know that you don’t like water all that much, but there are plenty of other things that can be done on the beach. Sometimes I like to just sit, read, and listen to the sounds of nature. It can be really relaxing. Not sure what the shoreline is like on the Canada side of Lake Huron, but there must be some nice beaches. Also, if your family likes freshwater lakes, camping, and sandy beaches, I’d highly recommend visiting Michigan’s Lake Michigan shore. The area around the Leelanau Peninsula is especially beautiful (Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, anyone?).
Where we live in now has very few lakes (and they are all small). I really miss being able to just take a nice day trip to the beach.

In fact, the BMW (Bring Money in Wallet) roundel is based on a propeller spinner… š

Sorry, I suck at posting comments. I replied in another comment to this post.

I’ve heard that before. Thanks for corroborating it, though. Wasn’t sure how accurate it was.
Even if it it related to Nazi Germany, I still think it is one of the most elegant company symbols ever. Simple four-quartered and two-colored circle. Not sure what else to say….

Sorry. I thought I was responding to MMM.
The last comment was meant to be a response to 3xM on the BMW reply.
Sorry for the screw-up.
