Taxi Driver
So you might have noticed that I didn’t have any posts over the weekend. The reason was that I had lots of family over. When I wasn’t playing host with my wife I was being the taxi driver for said family seeing as none of them drive. That being said, the time I was doing the taxiing was generally late in to the night so my posting time was nonexistent.
I don’t know if you play the taxi driver or the passenger during trips but it’s all ways appreciated if you put an offer out there to pay a bit for gas. I generally don’t take it but I feel a bit taken advantage of if something isn’t offered to compensate. We stopped off at a Tim Hortons and they bought me a doughnut, which was fine. I know we don’t all have the money to give for gas, so at least I was thanked in some fashion.
Also, on a related note. Crazy Taxi is one of my favorite games. ^_^

Huh… never really thought about this before. I guess if I’m hosting I just assume that I’ll be covering some things like gas. But there are other things that would put me off if they were not at least offered. Things like tollway fees, food charges, and the like I guess I at least expect the offer of compensation. I’d much rather my guest just make/provide a nice meal for everyone to enjoy (doesn’t have to be fancy). A nice bottle of wine, if I’m making dinner, is a nice gesture. But I guess you’re right, a sincere offer is probably more than enough.
