election – post 248
So it looks like Obama has won for the next president of the United States. It’s was pretty much a no brainer that that was going to be the outcome. So here’s to you America and here’s hoping that the next four years bring about good things for you.
As I sit and watched with the rest of the world your election seems to gather much more speed and ends up more like a sporting event then anything else. All kinds of shows cover every angels, free give aways for voting, it’s really too bad that other elections aren’t cover this way. Canadian elections came and go very quickly so that build up can never happen. It’s really too bad because I bet more people could get interested or even learn more about the process with better, more entertaining coverage.
Ah well… so did you get out and rock the vote?

*sigh* Yeah, I honestly get tired of hearing about the election. Sure I voted and all, but we are going to hear about it untill after New Year’s. Oh well, I guess.

I rather wish it was less like a sport event; taking that mentality to the extent it has already been taken, you get people on both sides voting for their ‘team’ just to see it win (which, to my mind, is a highly irresponsible way to vote).

then if not Obama then they’d most likly moan about the same for McCain

I’m just waiting to see if Obama can live up to all the hype.

Well… I guess the bright side to Obama getting elected is that, it’s going to be hard for him fuk up our economy see as how it’s in shambles right now along with the rest of the world (nice to get gas at $2.19)
I just find it hard to trust some one who won’t give out his info about college, financial, or even a real copy of his birth certificate.
His anti-gun views also scare me… Shooting is a sport not a crime. I’d like to see a bank robber shoot a quarter at 400 yards (1/5 of a mile)…
