Chores
We all have chores to do. There’s the dishes to do and laundry to take care of. Floors to vacuum (or sweep) and general clean up in and around the house. Now, of those or any other chores you might have on your list, which do you hate the most? Which ones can you not stand in the least and would love to avoid. Me, I generally take pleasure in doing chores. I like knowing that I’m working to making the place better and/or cleaner. I love knowing that progress is being done and I love to be as efficient as I possibly can. But if I had to pick, I’d say that I hate to deal with dishes that need to be soaked to get baked on stuff. I hate gross food water. It totally makes me gag. Ugh! I’ll just about anything else to get out that task. I’ll pick up dog poo from the back yard before I tackle food water. Seriously…

I’ve always found that the sooner you scrub after cooking, the easier it comes off before it cools down and hardens further.
Then again, I used to work at a service station that did cooked chickens, where cleaning the oven consisted of oven cleaner that was weaker than soapy water. Instead, I had to rely mostly on stripping off all the crud with steel wool and brute force, so I guess anything else in comparison seems easy.

Ugh! My brother and I are always in a battle of wills over who does the dishes. They will pile up for a week or two before one of us gives in and cleans them (usually me.) And my brother has the bad habit of using every utensil in the drawer in one day rather than, you know, using ONE, washing it off, then using it again.

Go ahead and throw my vote in the dish pile. When you live with 3 other roommates, the dishes can accumulate rather quickly. Of course, none of us want to do them when the sink gets full. And yes, sometimes they don’t rinse off their dishes. Once I truly believed something died in our sink, it got so bad.

Not so sure that I’d say I enjoy chores, but I don’t mind them and I do enjoy having a clean place. I actually do like to do the dishes (much prefer it to the poo option), but that is mostly because I like to cook, and thus want to maintain my cookware. This is not to say that it is fun, ‘cuz it definitely can be a hassle to get them clean sometimes. One thing I’m not fond of is cleaning the bathroom. I hate dealing with all of those chemicals.
