Joe's favorites: Ameican Gods – post 156
Wanna know what my favorite book is?
American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
Neil Gaiman is actually my favorite writer. Actually, he’s pretty much the only writer I follow and watch for in the book shops. I’ve read a lot of what he’s done. The Sandman series, Neverwhere, Fragile Things, Coraline, The Day I Swapped my Dad for Two Goldfish… but the top of my list is for sure American Gods.
The books follows a man named Shadow just after he’s released from prison. He ends up encountering a shifty old man named Wednesday and soon after meets, and gets involved with all manner of characters that he wouldn’t have though possible.
This story felt like it was made for me and I found that I completely got lost in the world in those pages. I believed in each of the characters I read about and loved all the imagery that was described. The hall of the gods sounds like a fantastic place to get lost in.
It’s hard to talk about this book with out giving away what going on in it, but trust me… this book is fantastic.
Has anyone else read this book or have an author that they follow?

I haven’t read American Gods, but I’ll give it a look. I’m more into the Scifi/Fantasy novels and a couple authors I’ve been following is Terry Goodkind and R.A. Salvatore. I’ve also begun following Gail Z. Martin, and her book ‘The Chronicles of the Necromancer’ has made its way up to the top 3 on my list.
