Slender neck, big chests
Don’t know if this helps or not, but during a study of the anime trend called “Bishonen” I discovered the style was centralized around men with small if not flat chests/wide shoulders. I noted that this effect was exaggerated by a slim neck that was actually wider then the head, that is to say the neck itself was actually hourglass shaped, thus the head was never wider then the neck. Excluding ears.
The neck also brimmed out going behind the shoulders, in that the shoulder blades anatomically were set before the neck muscles. It is strangely reminiscent of the Mannerism style of Painting and an almost serpentine exaggeration of features, but eh, snakes are slender. So are swans, and swans have long necks.
So here is a little sample of what I mean. Though I think the style may be to ‘anime’ to actually apply to more realistic biology, but its an option you can try out and play with. I know it helped me mess around anatomical settings that while in practice sound ridiculous, yet oddly work. Like Anime characters having HUGE eyes. But like I said, the style may be too ‘anime’, but I hope it helps you explore a bit. I mean no offense, and I am not trying to tell you how to draw though okay? This is just what helped me when I think of ‘slender’. So please don’t take offense. and I hope this helps you explore more styles!
