  • When do I consider a character to be "mastered"?

Well, I never REALLY consider any character I create to be Mastered because I never really set a standard for a character. I'm always finding new ways for them to evolve, so mostly they are in a state of flux.

Scarlet, for instance, is constantly changing.
New hair styles come and go depending on what I feel like, and recently I've altered her body markings slightly adding a new "spike" down the back of her neck and reducing the maple-leaf type pattern on her groin/theigh areas for simplicity's sake.

      • There's no such thing as a professional, for everyone always learns something new.

        • Actually the business term 'Professional' is based solely on one thing. Pay.

Well, in theatre world anyway; you can do umpteen plays, voice work, and everything. People ask then, when do you become a professional? Well you are a professional when someone pays you for your work. Its that simple actually. However if you want professional attitude wise, it is also a business thing, where you follows the rules of etiquette (be on time, wear a suit, etc) which makes you professional.

But if you want to the real world, skill based term… A professional is a person who can take on apprentices of the craft and teach them how to do the craft safely and efficiently within a certain time frame that others who are skilled within the craft agree upon.

Now, one never stops learning because there is always something new to learn, but one can be a professional in some things and a novice in others. In this sense, we are all professionals at something.

For example. We all know how to breath, but if a person comes along who can teach you how to hold you breath for eight minutes, and how to steady your breath even when panicked, and other such uncommon breath skills, this person can bring you up to their skill level of breathing which you could not do yourself. This then makes them a professional breather. Once you know everything they do, at a given skill level because they always come up with new stuff later, you too become a professional breather.

….why the hell am I writing such a long explanation of such a minor question? I must be a Professional Jack Ass.

          Sorry Guru! Great work!
