I Googled "Freeware" and "gif animator" for that result. While backtracking for the original link, I also found:
http://www.mrfreefree.com/free_softw...tor_tools.html
and
http://www.rocketdownload.com/details/inte/4282.htm
The same app is listed on both of the alternate links. Whether they're functioning downloads or not, I dunno. But the first one should still be good since I only hit it a couple of days ago.
(BTW, my avatar was a MiniDV-camcorder capture (ITT Tech School commercial "Locomotive Trip") from my cable box, ported to a laptop via the Image Mixer that came with the camcorder, then split apart with IrFanView into frames that were reassembled with Ulead's GIF animator that comes with PhotoImpact 6 (another UK coverdisk freebie--boy am I on a roll )

Scroll down to Binaries, (the main site distributes The GIMP as source), Ill assume you want a Windows version.
>> GIMP for Windows
There is a linf for an installer right at the top.
>> Automated Installer
Which takes you to the Sourceforge page that has the installer for The GIMP and the library it needs to run.
>> Stable
Gets you to the most recent fully tested version.
