  • I miss Wwoec...

I appreciate this site and all, but it just doesn't compare to how good wwoecforum was. It honestly isn't similar to it at all. Are there any future plans for jabarchives forum? or a different forum thats closer to what wwoec was? I'd prefer not having to join yet another site but I've yet to find a suitable replacement.

If anything, you get used to it i hope, not speaking for everyone else, but we did move forward, plus i start liking the new revitalized forums with its new look.

I'm not going to say you can't miss the old forums. However, it can come off as rather rude and ungrateful to say this place isn't as good.

It's different, we can all agree on that, and it's going to take some time for us all to adjust to that. and, it probably will never be the same as the old place, but different doesn't mean worse, or better, it means different.

The bottom line is, it was the community that made WWOEC the place it was, not the forum setup. And, if most of the membership have migrated here, then don't you think the best part of our old home has moved with us?

At the same time, Pepi, you weren't a member there for very long, so you may not feel the same as others. Many long time members are feeling similarly to how a person feels after losing a dear friend, or breaking up with a lover. so showing respect towards those ends are equally important.

I miss it too. Over 10 years there, but I've moved on. 9 years here, and I like it here just fine. Just have to get my bearings, and I'm good to go.

I'm with Roger. I miss WWOEC as well. I'm one of the old hats as well. Yes Jab, and Pal are different, but Im adapting to the change. The key is community. If we get enough dedicated members sharing their work, chatting, and supporting each other and this site it'll feel like a good place to come to.

I'm already enjoying it here, yes it can be quiet at times, but that's because it's still small.

All right, it is true that i was only for half a year on WWOEC, but i was a regular user who didnt posted before for years i knew the site before i became an artist myself.

I do apologize if i was rude to you to Geobraker, is just that i had a different way to handle things sometimes.

The past is prologue. WWOEC is gone but we have the memories. Nothing lasts forever. This is our new home. It will take time to get things moving smoothly and a lot of patience. As me-I'm chiilin' out. As old as I am somethings just can't be rushed.

Believe me, I miss WWOEC too. I've been a member for as long as my son has been alive, and it's been every bit a part of my life as anything else and it sucks that it's gone. But at least we have places to fall back on, and even if WWOEC never returns that doesn't mean we can't recreate the community that it was. If we cling bitterly to the past, we can never look forward to a brighter future. And remember...

You have to move on, Cheetah has been good enough to indulge us without ruining his own vision for this forum. I'm glad to be here and I'll be here as long as I can,

And now, some self-indulgent whining. I miss WWOEC because
--I find it disorienting to be split between two forums now.
--I have decision paralysis in that I have no idea where or how best to post my stories. Make an author thread, or post them individually? Post them here, on Palcomix, or both? Post the stories as full text, or just post links to where they reside on AFF? Post only cartoon fanfics as I did on WWOEC, or post original stories, too? All the questions I had previously resolved are open again.
--I miss my friend Dejablue, whom I have been unable to find since WWOEC suddenly vanished.

OK, whining complete. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
