Yeah things can be overwhelmingly quiet here and at PAL from time to time, but it's not virus infested, spambot, thiefs, and the wretched hive of scum and villiany other places like r34 and 4chan can be.

4.) Pixiv may be too Japanese for some people despite the English features.

It certainly takes some getting used to. There is a LOT of unique art there though. I found some amazing World Masterpiece Theatre / Nexo Knights stuff here, even though both are based in western culture and franchises.

5.) Paheal lack filters so you're bombarded with boner killing art while navigating, 4chan level mental midget commentary, and sometimes it gets malware.

Lately when you go there popups say you have CP and need to pay them money to fix it or you'll be arrested, LOL They're working on the ads supposedly.

It's not as if mental midget commentary is impossible here... but at the very least here you need to register so there's no anons confusion when having conversations.

I can't say I understand how filters work here...

New reasons for joining this site: 4chan's "Moderators" have blocked my ISP from most of the site due to abuse someone else and you can't even make a plea (not that'll do you any good anyway).

Plus the fact that R34 is cracking down on loli stuff now. They got a complaint from their server provider about it have deleted a massive amount of stuff. Some more famous artist (Incog for instance) got over 3/4 of their stuff removed. While there is still loli stuff being posted, it's a get it quick before it's removed race.

Hentai Foundry was another one that got crackdown on by their server host for have loli stuff. Between it and WWOEC, they were the greatest places to find great stuff. While there is some random stuff, it's really up to the mods now to decide whether they can post it and be safe. Sadly, most artists can't even post their anymore because loli was their niche.

As for Pixiv, it may be a Japanese site, quite a few artists post there. Biggest problem they have is that they don't seem to allow uncensored artwork (or it's a situation of most artists post censored stuff depending on where they live). Some artists get around it by posting like a censored or blocked out pic first, then post the uncensored one after that. However, Pixiv also has an issue with assholes who report artists too if they seem to be getting massive amounts of favorites. A couple of my favorite artists have had to make new accounts because Pixiv has banned their original ones. So much great artwork lost because of this.
