ATTN WWOEC refugees, im bringing back WWOEC

Right now the timetable is whenever i hear back from cobra, i already have the server spun up and base web server software installed, once i get a hold of the backups its a matter of configuration.

In order to clear the air, right now the plan im going with (when i hear back from cobra) is to host the forum and artist websites in essentially some sort of archival mode so that everyone can get to whatever was lost, temporarily, while i run benchmarks and monitor traffic to make sure that my servers could handle the traffic IF hosting WWOEC were to become permanent and open to new posts and that really depends on what cobra and the rest of the community wants to do, if cobra still wants to hold the reigns and have me as a permanent host than i of course will gladly oblige, if cobra doesn't want to hold the reigns i will still gladly host it permanently but at that point it will be up to the community as a Whole to decide if they want that or not. but frankly its anyone's guess until i hear word back.

As i get used to TJA its becoming much less alien, im excited to see it post-upgrade. I myself mostly want WWOEC back to get back what was lost, but if it cant/doesnt want to be brought back permanently then i can make a good home at TJA just as well as i was at home on WWOEC.

I for one will wait and see. I'm here now. Just chillin'

Uhm ok I got it, I think that still i don't see much "abuse" but i conced that given BBmbbf(damn i always make mistakes typing his nickname too many B's!!)comment is true that it was crossed the politeness line into quite rude territory. Still not abuse yet.
And I think(better HOPE) that "Rebrand" comment was more a bad spelles and funnier-in-their-head pun. Nobody can be such..
Ok perhaps some people can be like that. But one wish that at least when porn is concerned we can be civile and polite, as is a them that lend itself to become quite ugly before you evne realize it, if the guard is left too low.

I'm afraid that the whole community is going to be splitted like north and south korea because of this decision... Side 1 wants to stay side 2 wants the old forums back.. Sounds very dangerous!

We should wait and chill. For myself I will be at tja and pal as well even if the wwoec comes back...And of course in the old forum IF it comes back. Sure the lost of many good artists is hard but just wait... Im pretty sure some of them will come back somehow.. It just need time. Let's see what the admins of pal and tja can do for us. They already working very hard to handle this whole situation.

Personally I don't want WWOEC to come back, unless Cobra or one of his confidants is still running the show. Id rather remember it like it was,than risk seeing it turn into some shadow of its former incarnation. Or worse yet, some link farm, full of popups and malware.

bad news though, everything on the server was destroyed/deleted when it got taken down, if cobra ever decides to rebuild wwoec i have let him know that the offer to host will always be there but there are no backups unfortunately

This is why I don't lease machines anymore. The worst they can do is shut ours off, I've seen too many harddrives get deep formatted to ever want to lease a machine again.
