Man... that was so long ago... I forgot how that all went down in 2008? I seem to recall Cobra had some galleries saved when he started rebuilding. Is this when the site had the new look and ditched the galaxy wallpaper for the galleries?

We aren't doing any of that. WWOEC is dead. We're updating this forum to newer software and staying here.

Yes, a couple of well-meaning people have offered to host it again, but they simply don't know what they'd be getting into: Nobody can do with spare parts and a little free time what Cobra did for over fifteen years with site income and the use of professional web hosting services.

Also, most importantly, TJA and Pal are not going to be "the new WWOEC" by any stretch. It would be selfish and insulting to expect that, especially since they've exited for even longer than WWOEC. Cheetah is doing some upgrades to help accommodate us and taking suggestions on what we'd like to see, but that's him being generous. Please! let's not abuse it.

I'm happy to be part of these forums the way they are and not to try to WWOEC-ize them. I imagine there's a reason that this place has been around since the mid-90s.

No offense but if cm0002 wants to try and thinks he's capable of doing it then it's entirely up to him. Who knows maybe he could find a way to make it work and there's no harm in him trying.

Abuse?!? If i heard another time this word again i'll get mad!!
Look I understand that you all guys(but mostly Cheetah who is showing as the classy guy he is) are making amazing effort to help us, we don't deny it. And i agree that trying to modl TJA in what was WWoEC is probably wrong. But put in our shoes. Some of us, and i am amongst those, had been on ONLY on one Toon erotica board in years(yeah i subscribed on many but checked regularly, DAILY, sometimes HOURLY, only on WWoEC). We felt like the buliding we were living had suddenly disappeared.
We are grateful for the welcoming, but if we are supposed to stay here there is nothing wrong in asking IF(so we are not forcing anything on anyone) sa few little thing aroudn here could change to fit more our customs. Nothing else. Surely nothing I would classify as net-abuse.
Still we are grateful for allthe help is coming our way.

Right now the timetable is whenever i hear back from cobra, i already have the server spun up and base web server software installed, once i get a hold of the backups its a matter of configuration.

In order to clear the air, right now the plan im going with (when i hear back from cobra) is to host the forum and artist websites in essentially some sort of archival mode so that everyone can get to whatever was lost, temporarily, while i run benchmarks and monitor traffic to make sure that my servers could handle the traffic IF hosting WWOEC were to become permanent and open to new posts and that really depends on what cobra and the rest of the community wants to do, if cobra still wants to hold the reigns and have me as a permanent host than i of course will gladly oblige, if cobra doesn't want to hold the reigns i will still gladly host it permanently but at that point it will be up to the community as a Whole to decide if they want that or not. but frankly its anyone's guess until i hear word back.

Edit:
As i get used to TJA its becoming much less alien, im excited to see it post-upgrade. I myself mostly want WWOEC back to get back what was lost, but if it cant/doesnt want to be brought back permanently then i can make a good home at TJA just as well as i was at home on WWOEC.
