Thanks, umm... tips? I'm not really good at that. but here goes.

observation is key, examine the artist's work who you are trying to duplicate or emulate, I'm sure you've already done this. Maybe even have their work infront of or next to ya when you draw, so you have something to compare and or work against. (helps me)

Also what helps a lot of artists (myself included) is doing a lot of figure drawing (that's when ya have an actual person sitting infrot of ya) this helps with proportions, cloth/clothing (if ya choose to have any... hehehe), lighting and funny enough speed, at least it did for me (hmmm..... just thinking about it, it's been awhile since I did any fig stuff, now if only I had a willing gal to draw. lol). Drawing real stuff really helps, most pro artists/cartoonist admit to this, so give it a try.

then once ya feel your work is at a good enough level, start trying to drawing characters and things from different angles, like from an isometric view or such (this is really higher grade stuff, so don't worry about it till you are good and ready)
then lastly don't stop! as practice makes perfect, it's all about trial and error.

I suppose I could have gone into more detail, but I hate writing and even more so, typing. Maybe if we could chat, I could explained it better. Anyways hope ya get a little something out of that.

lol, Mad! or should I say Joe Madureira is an artist who has done work on Xmen and his own comic, Battle Chasers to name a few. As for the Asian guy... I have no idea.
