What are some songs that you just never get tired of no matter how many times you hear them? I listen to music while I work some times and it dawned on me that I’ve listened to some of these songs for 20 years! One of those songs is Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz. I still remember rocking out this in high school. Another is God Gave Me Everything I Want by Mic Jagger. I discovered this one in the early 2000’s but I totally fell in love with the song. Ironically, this one also has Lenny Kravitz in it.
There more the few that I could list off next, but this one is my favorite of all time. It’s the Barenaked Ladies cover of Lovers In A Dangerous Time. No matter how many times I listen to this one, I just end up loving it more. I remember staying up all night long at a friend’s house and watched a Much Music special on the BNL back in the early 90’s. To me, at that time in my life, it was just perfect. No Lenny in this one though… I’m fine with that. ^_^
Last night I was unable to make my usual post because I was busy gift wrapping. I hate waiting until the last moment to gift wrap. It feels rather pointless for me to make the gifts all pretty only for others to destroy it a short time later. I’ve done it as late as Christmas Eve, and trust me… that sucks. Do you have all your gifts bought yet and if so, are they all wrapped? I actually still have some more to do, but I won’t see those people until after the holiday, so there’s no rush but I’d still like to get them done soon.
Today I’ll be doing a lot of holiday baking. Every year we make a gingerbread house with a recipe that has been passed down through the generations. It’s my job to make the template for the house so it all fits together (yay high school drafting classes!). No prefab for us! I’ll also be making my favorite orange, chocolate cookies and my mint chocolate pinwheel cookies. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I have to go to work so this is my only day to bake my cookies. Too bad you can’t be here to share in them, but trust me… they’re tasty. ^_^
Are all your holiday preparations done yet?
I’m sure you’re aware that the Mayan’s have predicted the end of the world. Seriously… true story. According to their calendar system and then merged with our calendar the date will fall on December 21, 2012. Less than 10 days and then it’s all over people. Sigh… the sad thing is that some people really do believe this to be true. I won’t go in to the details of Mayan long count calendar (I’ve read up on it), but I have done a little research in to what people think will happen. It seems to cover everything from massive solar flares, asteroids, the magnetic poles switching and a secret hidden planet that exists behinds the sun coming in to view. I can’t say for 100% that one or any of those things will happen, but I can say that I feel pretty safe. Plus if it really is the end of the world, no point in stocking up on canned goods or bottled water right?
But let’s say that the world was going to end. What would you do? What would do with the time you had left? Would it be the same as usual for you or would you run off and try to do all the things you’ve always wanted to do? Loot some stores? Tell your boss to suck your dick? Take part in a few end of the world orgies? I think I would quit my job after my last pay check and spend the rest of my time with my family. They’re the only ones I’d want to be with when it all goes down.
My whole family is gone for 3 whole days! I can do what ever I want! WOOO!!!!111!!one Chances are though, I’ll just draw. I don’t do anything crazy or throw wild parties when I get the house. I draw or play games because that’s what makes me happy. ^_^ When you get time to yourself, what is it that you do?
Since we’re on the topic of Christmas. What are you looking to get for Christmas or better yet do you have an awesome gift you’re looking to give to someone? Because as fun as it is to get stuff, it’s fantastic to see peoples faces when they open things you’ve bought them.
Me? I’m hoping that I get a Wii U. I know it’s an expensive gift, so my heart isn’t set on it. I’m pretty sure that will be an after the holidays purchase. As for what I’ve bought… I have a very nice gift for my wife, but I won’t mention it on the off chance she visits my site. It could happen and with my luck, a pretty good chance of it too. ^_^
