surgery – post 309

Have you ever had to go under the knife?  I know someone that is going to have to go have surgery and it got me thinking… I’ve never had to get cut.  Well… I had to have my large toenail removed when I was about 13 because I had an ingrown toenail that just kept getting worse and worse.  I also had to be put out to have teeth removed when I got braces, but that’s it.  Nothing major… so far.

Has anyone out there had to have surgery before?  Any stories to go along with the experience?

moving – post 308

So yes, my brother in law and family have moved in and yes… they know I draw smutty things, so no worries there.

One thing I forgot about when you move is that 1. it sucks and 2. you discover how much crap you actually own. Things you thought you got rid of but didn’t, things you know you should get rid of but don’t and things you won’t get rid of but aren’t sure why. I remember when we moved last and just being in awe of how much we actually owned. I a bit of a pack rat too, so that didn’t help.

So how about you? Do you own boxes of stuff that still haven’t been unpacked since your last move or you to keep things light? Or do you dread the though of moving because you know that hauling all your crap around wouldn’t be a nightmare. ^_^

more family – post 307

This is a short one… Just helped my brother in law and family move in to my home in order to help us and them during the crappy economic times.

Good part is, I now have some one to play video games with.

Yay! ^_^

Good night.

jobless – post 306

Toady I packed up all my crap from work and left the studio.  Suck…  All the portfolio’s I’ve put out haven’t resulted in any work for myself.  It would seem that no one is looking for artists right now.  We had a meeting the other day and where told that the way things look and with the pitches that are out there they’ll be able to start bringing people back in mid Feb.  I sure hope so because right now things look pretty grim.  Worst of all is that if we where still in Montreal I’d be able to find a new studio with no problems.

Suck…

I wish porn could pay my bills.  On a semi related note… remember that Jo comic I was working on.   If it where done who would be interested in buying a copy of it?

waffles – post 305

If you’ve been following along, I like to cook a bit… chocolate orange cookies (did any one try the recipe I posted?), homemade bread, orange pancakes… air popped popcorn and dutch oliebollen.  But now I have a new treat to make.  Waffles!  Homemade waffles.  My Dad and step mom bought us a waffle iron for Christmas after we ranted and raved on how good their waffle iron is, and boy do we love ours just as much.

It took a few tries to get them to come out just right but after that… oh baby.  Nice toasty waffles fresh from the iron with a dollop of fresh whip cream, strawberries, blueberries, bananas and mandarin oranges can’t be beat.  Seriously, it’s probably the best way to start the day.  Maybe throw some bacon and/or sausages on the side with some eggs and OJ and you got a breakfast of champions.  I’m sure it’s what the gods eat every morning.

Man, now I want some waffles.  ^_^  Do you have a favorite breakfast?

wii fit – post 304

I think I mentioned in a previous post that my brother in law and family got Wii fit for Christmas.  They’ve been staying with us for a while (and will be moving in too due to bad economic times) so I’ve gotten a pretty good chance to try it out.  My verdict?  It’s pretty damn fun.  ^_^

People say it gimmicky and others say that you really don’t loose weight by doing the games but I say who cares?  The little games are as fun as heck to play and the yoga and strength training exercises give you a good feeling of accomplishment when you play them.  I actually did find that I was losing weight after a few days of play.  So just like any real fitness training if you put in the time, you’ll see results.  It’s not super intense, but it is fun to play.  As for what I think about the balance board, I love games that make me play differently then I normally do.  It sort of kicks you down a notch from where your skills normally are and you have to learn how to play games again… sort of.

So yeah, Wii Fit totally gets my thumbs up. b ^_^ d I’d recommend it to anyone.
