Pool Noodle Lightsabers
So it’s the last weekend of the summer and I thought it would be fun to squeeze in one more summer time craft. Luck would have it I found just the perfect one. Apparently, if you take some pool noodles, duct tape and electrical tape you can make foam lightsabers! I instantly thought… I have to make those. So this weekend I tracked down some noodles (which was hard because they’re out of season), bought a fresh roll or duct tape and set to work. What you do is measure the center of the noodles and cut them in half. Then take your duct tape and cover the bottom of one of the your noodle. Then measure up a good amount for the handle and wrap strips of duct tape around and around until you get to the bottom. Then decorate the handle with the electrical tape and you’re done! It’s so easy and so cool too. Plus it’s way too much fun beating the crap out of someone with a foam lightsaber.
Look here for more detailed pictures on how to make them and yes… I know. I need to cut my lawn.

Alright, a few things:
1) as a HUGE O.T. FANATIC (everything else is to be ignored…. Well, except KotOR games.), thank you for using only red, blue, and green.
2) HOLYF’INGHELLTHAT’SAWESOME.IWISHIHADTOUGHTOFTHATASAKID.ANDWHAT…ANOTHERAWESOMEUSEFORDUCTTAP!!!!
Ahem…. And, lastly…
3) Sorry, but my anal retentive nature must point out that the hilts are not accurate to the sabers. Perhaps they belong to non-canon Jedi/sith (read: any force-user not from the O.T.).?
Thanks for posting this. I’m sure I’ll make use of it in the future.

Sorry to disappoint, but that’s not a red saber. It’s orange. I was only able to acquire orange, green and blue ones. The camera seems to make them look red though for some strange reason. Second, I was making them for my kids and niece and nephews. While I would have loved to spend 45 more min (each) to research the details of the actual ones used, I don’t think they would have been impressed. Plus they didn’t care if they weren’t official hilts, as long as they where able to beat the crap out of each other with them. ^_^
