Wreck-It Ralph

So with E3 going on right now, there is probably no better time to release the new Disney movie trailer for Wreck-It Ralph.  In the film, Ralph is a video game bad guy.  Not a new game mind you.  He’s a classic 80’s arcade game baddie who’s not happy and wants to be a good guy.  I want to talk about it more, but I’ll just let you watch before I ruin anything.

Okay, now that you’ve seen the trailer we can talk more openly.  First, I really think this looks adorable and I’m looking forward to it.  Second, who can name all the enemies in the support group scene?  Obviously there is Zangief, and Clyde the ghost, but did you catch the others?  I saw Bowser,  M. Bison, Dr. Robotnik, Smoke, Beholder and Kano (I think).  I don’t know who the purple rhino is, or the demon chick is.  I thought the red devil was Red Arremer from Ghost and Goblins but I was wrong.  I would guess that the yellow robot is from an old Atari game like Berzerk, he seems sort of generic.  The zombie is probably from something since he holds two axes and that seems important to who he is in a game.  I think it’s great that they went through the trouble to get the licenses to these characters.  It’ll make the movie feel better then if they just made up every thing.

    Awesome, i have been watching disney movies since i was a kid, and let me tell ya, this one will be the best to date, and i am shocked Bowser and Dr. Robotnik are in it(i mean i’m a big mario fan and sonic fan), and that reason(besides it being a disney movie)is why i’ll definitely see it. BTW the zombie is from an old sega game known as house of the dead and that purple rhino is the final boss of a game called altered beast, and i think i saw Chun-Li from street fighter.

      I remember Altered Beast. I used to play it at a friends house. I don’t recall beating it though, which is why I don’t remember the Rhino. As for the the zombie, I never played House of the Dead. I passed it many a times in the arcades, but never sank a quarter in to it.

    Hmm… maybe I’m out of touch with my game characters, but in the big picture I could only recognize the Q-bert gang and Chun Li aside from Zangief and M. Bison. I like how they handled Q*bert’s language in the video. Have fond memories of that game, but can’t quite recall why….

    I will totally laugh out loud if Bison exclaims “YES! YES!”.

    And someone on FA said the Zombie was from an old track shoot-em-up.
