we'lll miss you bettie – post 283

I’m sure that most have heard now that Bettie Page has passed away at the age of 85.

I think it’s quite amazing the influence she’s had on pop culture and sexuality.  I mean, jet black hair and bangs is so iconic now and will be forever thanks to Bettie.  It’s too bad the later part of her life was scared with depression and bad marriages.

Here’s to you Bettie.  I bet you never thought you’d inspire hundreds of thousands of people, and thanks to your photos you’ve gained immortality in our culture.

May you rest well.

    ’tis a sad day indeed when we lose a legend like this. I’m glad you dedicated a post to her memory. I don’t think enough people really understand the impact this icon had on the world.
    Hey Joe, know how you could really honor her memory? Have some of your gallery girls pay tribute by recreating some of her more famous pix.
    How ’bout it?
